HOKA HEY... WTF!!!
The Marlins and Pirates owners are frauds and scum. I will post this everywhere I can because I love baseball and they ruin it for their fans. F*ck Jeff Loria and Bob Nutting. F*ck Magic Johnson's dumb ass for giving Frank McCourt $2 billion for a bankrupt Dodgers franchise (F*ck McCourt for what he did) and then immediately destroying the Dodgers' franchise with millions in back-breaking shitty contracts to rotting corpses. And most of all, F*ck Bud Selig for allowing scumbags like them into the ownership ranks.

The Dust Settled...2012 part 1
When A.J. Burnett was approached in the Pirates' locker room and asked about his National League Player of the Week Award, he nodded a couple lockers to his left. "They should give it to Rod Barajas. He's the reason, he should get Player of the Week," Burnett said. "All I know," Barajas said, "is when I was catching Curt Schilling (with Arizona in 2000-03) and he was named Player of the Week, he gave me a watch." "He gave you a lousy watch because he didn't need it," Burnett came back. "He thought, 'What the heck am I gonna do with this $5 watch. I know what -- I'll give it to Barajas.'" "It's the thought that counts," Barajas said. "We need to quit this heckling," Burnett said. "People are going to think we like each other." Gee, how would anyone get that idea?

The Summer of ZOLTAN!
It was the best Summer of my life, it was the worst fall of my life, it was the age of McCutchen, it was the age of the Pedro Bomb, it was the epoch of belief in we can do this, it was the epoch of Zoltan, it was the season of "Finishing", it was the season of collapse, it may become the "spring" of hope, it became the winter of despair and disbelief, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going directly to playoff heaven, but we were all going directly the other way - in short, the season was so far like the present period, that some of its noisiest authorities insisted on its being received, for AJ Burnett and Drew Sutton and Starling Marte or for Rod Barajas and Clint Barmes and Jason Grilli, in the superlative degree of comparison only.

MARATHON in Missouri
Curse Of Jerry Meals Vanquished?
Thanks to Pedro Alvarez's clutch home run, the Pirates beat the Cardinals in 19 INNINGS. The two teams have played 2,186 times since 1901. Today's affair was the longest of them all. Karstens started the 19 inning game today and the one last year.
Andrew McCutchen tweeted: @TheCUTCH22
So that’s how it feels to be on the winning side of a 19 inning game...must say it feels pretty good.

Happy Birthday Roberto Clemente!!!
Roberto Clemente Walker (August 18, 1934 – December 31, 1972) was a Puerto Rican ball player whose Major League career comprised the 18 seasons stretching from 1955 through 1972, all of them played with the Pittsburgh Pirates, primarily as a right fielder. Clemente was awarded the National League (NL) Most Valuable Player (MVP) Award in 1966. He was on the NL All-Star team 15 times, received 12 Gold Glove Awards, and led the NL in batting average four times. In 1972, Clemente got his 3,000th major league hit. Off the field, Clemente was involved in charity work in Puerto Rico and other Latin American countries, often delivering baseball equipment and food to those in need. He died in an aviation accident on December 31, 1972, while en route to deliver aid to earthquake victims in Nicaragua. Clemente was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame posthumously in 1973, becoming the first Latin American to be selected and one of only four current Hall of Fame members for whom the mandatory five-year waiting period has been waived.[1][2] Besides being the first Hispanic player to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, Clemente is also the first Hispanic to win a World Series as a starter (1960), receive an MVP Award (1966), and receive a World Series MVP Award (1971).

This was the first ever ballgame I had ever attended. I saved up about $50 and my Mom got the tickets off of a family friend, Bruce Dal Canton who was with the Atlanta Braves at the time as a pitching coach. I went with my friend Brian Zahand and I had a blast that day!!
